Guitars of the Stars is owned and
operated by Michael "Bonsai" Murray and pop recording artist & author Azure
Flame, managed by Metrotone Music Publishing & Productions, with additional
technical, design and writing assistance by Administrator, Dorian Sheats and
Webmaster, Diego Avaya.
Guitars of the Stars was inspired by Michael's own extensive personal collection
of memorabilia which he has accumulated over the years. After seeing the
ecstatic response of locals to an autographed Tommy Lee guitar that Michael
donated to the Rockin' for Relief benefit concert raffle in West Palm Beach for
Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, Michael recognized the potential for a
lucrative business. The guitar was raffled off at midnight as the highly
anticipated Grand Prize.
The first thing many people
want to know is where the merchandise comes from and how it is acquired. Michael
spent his teens and twenties touring as a crew member and/or personal guest of
some of the hottest rock bands of the time, including Foghat, Judas Priest, 38
Special, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Journey and many others. He filled in the
gaps working in night clubs of South Florida as a manager or DJ. Michael and/or
Azure's close friends include comedian John Pinette, Steelheart's Chris Risola,
Lillian Axe, Drowning Pool's Dave Williams (r.i.p.), Stevie Nicks, Mike Allman,
Tanya Tucker, Charlie Daniels and Pearl Jam's Dave Krusen to name a few. Michael
also worked as a talent scout for Atlantic Records under then A&R Exec, James
Devericks, who is now the President and CEO of Titan Entertainment, Inc.
Michael and Azure have both traveled extensively, and have now made Palm Beach,
Florida, their home. They have added to their agenda plans to open their own
night club in South Florida, and Azure intends to extend her career further into
the production field. In the meantime, Guitars of the Stars is built by a
collection of past memories and adventures, and making room for future
additions.
